Ah, the power of the Internet. If you have what it takes, you can just upload video of yourself singing and wait for Ellen DeGeneres to ultimately discover and invite you to her show. That’s almost a sure fire way to rocket yourself to fame!
Need proof? First, there was Charice Pempengco. Then there was Arnel Pineda. And now, another Filipino talents were discovered through YouTube. They are the singing duo of Erin and Roxanne, popularly known as Rin (Erin) on the Rox (Roxanne). They are also known as “The Bathroom Singers” because they sing, well ah, in the bathroom. From their YouTube channel, Erin wrote that they are both Filipino, but as for Roxanne, she’s Filipino and white.
What catapulted them to fame?
This is the video of them singing Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy” that caught Ellen’s attention.
Their performance was so good that it gathered 2.8 million hits (as of this writing) and gathered rave reviews from fans.
Some even made parodies that were downright funny. These are some of them.
Here was Ellen’s invitation to the duo on January 22, 2009.
They ultimately performed for The Ellen DeGeneres Show on February 3, 2009.
I hope many more kababayans will be given a break by Ellen. She’s truly a blessing to us Filipinos.

It’s purely a coincidence bro. But don’t fret, at least many of us are spreading the good news about these wonderful girls.

Wow that’s nice to hear. They are really talented to be just singing these cover songs. They should also establish their own brand and style.
