After being invited to perform for the Ellen Degeneres Show on February 3, 2009, the original YouTube account of Erin and Roxanne who are popularly known as Rin on the Rox was taken down by YouTube.
Posted on their MySpace account was this unedited message:
Our YouTube has been PERMANENTLY DISABLED! We do not know exact details or the reason for the suspension of our account, but usually when accounts are terminated, it is due to copyright infringing. We weren’t even notified before the deletion of our videos and account. We do not understand why they have suspended OUR account because of terms of violation when a great percentage of YouTube users do not have copyright permission either. We are thinking that all of the fame we have gained from just singing on YouTube has forced them to act against us. We are deeply saddened by this whole situation, for YouTube is what started it all for us as far as music and singing goes and was also a way to communicate to our fans all over the world. Rin on the Rox will not end because YouTube is gone. We will have an original song up soon, and hopefully even a single. Our website is in the making and we will also be having more Rin on the Rox merchandise for sale soon. Please continue to support us throughout this whole ordeal. We are alive through you, our fans so please, please keep supporting.

Your support is very much appreciated!! Thank you all so much!
Thank you so much everyone for standing behind us and continuing to show your love and support. Most importantly, thank you for keeping Rin on the Rox alive on YouTube being that our account is non-existent. We really want to be able to express our sincere and utter gratitude to our fans and the only way to do that, as of now, is to do it through our writing. So again, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
YouTube really has been so strict nowadays. I myself is having difficulty uploading our wedding videos because they were done in MTV format. YouTube strips the uploaded videos of its original background music for supposed “copyright violations.” They will then prompt you to replace the music with those done by its roster of musicians. Oh well, YouTube is not the only video website out there. A good alternative I have been using is MetaCafe.
Anyway, after this little bump on the road to stardom for these Pinoy YouTube sensation, they created a new account on March 3, 2009. They also posted a NEW video rendition of the song that catapulted them to fame, Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy”.
For more cover songs, visit their NEW YouTube channel here. I tell you, these girls really are so good. They are already working on their original songs so just keep on supporting them.

I’m afraid Youtube is going to be more and more restrictive with their content. The more they gain popularity the harder it is for them to control the users. And I am not speaking here about to beautiful singing girls but about some not so sane people.
