Leaving no doubt on who is the “Best Pound-for Pound Boxer in the World”, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao lulled Ricky “Hitman” Hatton to sleep via a 2nd round knock-out during their “Battle of the East and West” bout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Before sending Hatton to dreamland, Pacquio gave him a brutal beating in the 1st round with two knockdowns.
By winning the bout, Manny wrestled away Ricky’s IBO and Ring Magazine junior-welterweight championship belts. He has now won five world titles in five different weight divisions! He also improved his record to 49-3-2 with 37 wins coming via KO.
During the post-fight interview inside the ring, promoter Bob Arum declared Manny Pacquiao, “The greatest boxer who ever lived”. Wow, such a bold statement!
Here’s the picture of Manny’s vaunted left straight.

Coach Freddie Roach also quipped “Manny’s unbelievable, he makes me look good”.

Showing why he is so blessed and talented, Manny went to his corner to pray.

Poging-pogi pa rin si Manny, hindi man lang nagalusan, hehehe…

OTHER FIGHT NOTES:
WWE wrestler Batista was by Pacquiao’s side as he was entering the arena.
Martin Nievera sang the Phillipine National Anthem while wearing a t-shirt designed by FrancisM. He was the first man to sing at Pacquiao’s big fights… and he did not jinx Manny.
Jasmine Villegas who sang the American National Anthem is a Fil-Am.
Some famous celebrities seen at ringside were Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Mariah Carey, PDiddy, Jay-Z, Denzel Washington and Oscar dela Hoya.
In one of the undercards, Bernabe Concepcion won his Featherweight match against Yogli Herrera via unanimous decision.
Manny Pacquiao was hailed by announcer Michael Buffer as “from Sarangani Province…”, not the usual “from General Santos City…” Hehe, nagpaparamdam na si Manny sa mga constituents niya sa Sarangani. Tatakbo kasi siyang Congressman next year eh.

I’m a Brit and I’m totally impressed with Pacquiao. Honestly, I was really expecting that Ricky would be beaten in the later rounds, by round 9 or so.
But by a knockout in the 2nd round? That’s totally ridiculous! Who would have expected such a thing?
Well, Manny beat Ricky fair and square. Hats off to him. Congratulations!

Haha, nobody mate. Maybe except for Freddie Roach. Roach and Pacquiao together is a really good tandem. They have silenced your boastful Hatton and annoying Mayweather, Sr.

I didn’t expect Ricky Hatton will be finished in second round. I thought the fight will last for a distance.
Really, the tandem of Roach and Pacquiao is perfect. Roach is a great trainer while Pacquiao is the awesome boxer.
