My prediction was right on target! Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipović scored a 1st round KO over Mustapha Al-turk in the undercard of UFC 99: The Comeback.

It might as well be the main event since the title was named as such because Mirko Cro Cop is returning to the UFC for the first time since his unanimous decision loss to Cheick Kongo at UFC 75 in 2007. And in a truly dominating fashion, he showed the MMA world that he has returned.

The bout started with Filipović being tentative and just content on slipping out of Al-turk’s way as the latter was aggressive throwing wild kicks and punches. In the half-way mark, Cro Cop charged forward and unleashed a flurry of punches that sent Mustapha slumped against the fence and into the ground. The referee then allowed Mustapha to get back on his feet but was immediately hit by a punch that seemed to hit his eye. Temporarily blinded, Cro Cop jumped on him and sent him again to the canvas before the referee stopped the fight. Wow, Mirko Cro Cop did not even utilized his vaunted high kick to get the win.
