During an interview for the UFC 100 fight preview video production, Brock Lesnar said:

“This fight is nothing about respect. This fight is all about revenge”

Lesnar seeks revenge against the man who defeated him the first time he stepped on the Octagon at UFC 81, Frank Mir.

Lesnar became the UFC Heavyweight Champion when he TKOd Randy Couture in Round 2 at UFC 91.

Mir became the UFC Interim-Heavyweight Champion when he TKOd “Minotauro” Nogueira in Round 2 at UFC 92. The grudge match between these two beasts will determine who the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion is.

My result prediction?

Brock Lesnar has the size and strength advantage. Frank Mir has the experience and technique. I pick Lesnar to win via 2nd round TKO.

In the co-main event, UFC welterweight champion Georges “Rush” St. Pierre and Yahoo! Sports’ #1 pound-for-pound fighter defends his belt against MAWeekly.com’s 2008 Fighter of the Year Thiago “Pitbull” Alves.

My result prediction?

Both are complete fighters with the ability to win in a standing or ground fight. Both are also skilled and still young. This will be close.  One mistake is all it takes to turn the tide in one’s favor. I pick St. Pierre to win via 3rd round TKO.

In the third card, American Dan “Hendo” Henderson will meet British Michael “The Count” Bisping in a welterweight division bout between the opposing coaches on the ninth season of The Ultimate Fighter titled “The Ultimate Fighter: United States vs. United Kingdom”.

My result prediction?

Henderson is a veteran champion who have defeated world-class athletes in the course of his career. He has awesome wrestling skills and terrific ground control over opponents. Bisping possesses excellent kickboxing skills. Both fighters have not yet been knocked-out in their MMA career. This might change soon. Bisping’s power will KO Henderson in the 2nd Round.

UFC 100 is scheduled for July 11, 2009 (July 12, Sunday here in the Philippines) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
