The co-main event of UFC 100 featured a fight between UFC welterweight champion Georges “Rush” St. Pierre and Yahoo! Sports’ #1 pound-for-pound fighter and MMAWeekly.com’s 2008 Fighter of the Year Thiago “Pitbull” Alves.
It was scheduled last July 11, 2009 (July 12, Sunday here in the Philippines) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It was the story of the night. Georges St. Pierre taking down Thiago Alves all over and over again. It was a dominant performance by St. Pierre showing the world that he is not the best pound-for-pound MMA fighter in the world for nothing. Georges St. Pierre won by Unanimous Decision!
