On July 16, 2009, an Erin Andrews peephole video was posted on the web site NSFWPOA.com although the woman  in it was only described as “Hot naked blonde who looks a lot like a sports blogger favorite in her hotel room”.

In the video, the woman is seen primping her hair and putting on her makeup while walking around her hotel room naked.

The very next day, ESPN identified the girl as their sportscaster Erin Andrews and their lawyers sent this letter to the web site owners:

I am the General Counsel of ESPN, Inc. It has come to my attention that you have posted on your site pictures of a young, blonde woman . . . These pictures were obviously taken through a peephole or otherwise in a fashion constituting a trespass/assault on the rights of the woman involved. Your continued posting of these pictures are highly likely to render you an accessory after the fact to a criminal act. We hereby demand that you (i) immediately remove these pictures from your site and (ii) disclose to us the source of the pictures. We intend to hold you fully responsible for further display of material that so obviously violates the law.

Please confirm by return e-mail that you intend to comply with these demands. In the absence of such confirmation we will assume you are an active and willing participant in these acts.

Afraid of a law suit, the video was taken down. But not after it piqued the curiosity of many.

It has become one of the hottest search queries in #1  search engine Google for the past 10 days with internet voyeurs looking for it with different keyword combination like nsfw poa erin andrews (the video first appeared in NSFWPOA.com), google cache erin andrews (after it was taken down, some claimed that it was still in Google’s cache and not yet totally eliminated from the world wide web) and erin andrews video download rapidshare (it was supposedly uploaded to the file sharing site by individuals who were able to get hold of the videos).

Who is Erin Andrews anyway?

The ever reliable Wikipedia says that Erin Andrews is an American sportscaster for ESPN who joined the giant sports network in 2004. In 2007 and 2008, she was voted “America’s Sexiest Sportscaster” by Playboy Magazine.

So, this is why people are in a mad dash to see her in her birthday suit: she’s one hot babe.

But really, why the frenzy? Have we not seen enough boobies already in the s*x video scandals that hit us left and right?

Well, there’s more to that. After all, it is human nature that when something piques our curiosity but was purposely hidden from us, we will find ways  to find it out. Think of the JFK assassination, the Apollo 11 moon landing hoax, the 9/11 Pentagon crash, the Loch Ness monster, the Lebron James gets dunked on video and the list goes on.

Be careful in your quest for this elusive Erin Andrews peephole video though. Some sites are pretending to host the video but are really hosting some virus. They might trick you into playing the supposed video and the next thing you know, your computer is already corrupted… as well as your mind.

Consider yourself warned.
