In a boxing event titled “Number One / Numero Uno”, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez will face each other in a 12-round welterweight fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

They will meet at a catchweight of 144 lbs. Mayweather is undefeated with 39 wins (25 by KO) while Marquez has a record of 50 wins (37 by KO), 4 losses and 1 draw.

This will mark Mayweather’s return to the ring after he announced on March 18 , 2009 that he is coming back after a 16-month temporary retirement. The fight was originally scheduled for July 18 but was postponed to September 19, 2009 due to a rib injury Mayweather received during training. It will be in conjunction with Mexican Independence Day, traditionally a big boxing weekend.

The undercard for the event is as follows:

Chris John vs Rocky Juarez (for the WBA featherweight title)

Michael Katsidis vs Vicente Escobedo (for the interim WBO lightweight title)

You can watch the Mayweather vs Marquez LIVE via pay-per-view on Saturday, September 19, 2009 9PM ET / 6PM PT through HBO PPV. Charge starts at $49.95.

Here in the Philippines, the fight will be available LIVE at SkyCable’s Season Pass on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 8 AM. ABS-CBN Channel 2 will also have a delayed telecast.
