Last April, Manny Pacquiao was ranked 22nd on Time Magazine’s annual list of 100 Most Influential People in the World. On June, he was 57th on Forbes’ Celebrity 100 List and awarded as 2008 Fighter of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America. Then on July, he got the 2009 ESPYs Best Fighter Award.

Next in line for Pacman?

It’s for AskMen.com’s Most Influential Men list. AskMen.com is the largest men’s lifestyle website online.

Manny Paquiao ranked 24th out of 49 getting a score of 82.1. He is the only boxer on the list.

Why he’s number 24?

His entry at the website reads as follows:

We generally aren’t intimidated by guys who are 5-foot-6 and 130 pounds, but Manny Pacquiao is a definite exception. This 30-year-old Filipino fighter, currently the IBO and Ring Magazine Light Welterweight champion, recently became the first Asian boxer to win five world titles in five different weight divisions, leading many pundits to label him the greatest pound-for-pound pugilist in boxing history.

Pacquiao’s mastery was especially apparent on May 2, 2009, when he easily knocked out former WBA welterweight world champ Ricky Hatton at a heavily hyped match in Las Vegas. ESPN’s Dan Rafael was one of many journalists who sang Pac-Man’s praises following the fight. “It was almost laughable how easy it was for Pacquiao,” Rafael wrote. “It seems as though there is nothing he can’t do.”

The Associated Press’ Tim Dahlberg was quick to agree. “He didn’t just beat Hatton,” Dahlberg asserted. “He didn’t just knock him out. He demolished a world-class fighter, and he did it with such precision and ease that the talk afterward wasn’t whether Pacquiao is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, but whether he might be one of the best ever.”

Pacquiao’s next fight has already been scheduled for October 17, 2009, in Sin City. All that remains now is to select his next victim.

Number one on the list is Don Draper, a fictional character and the protagonist of AMC’s television series Mad Men with a score of 91.1. Notable personalities ahead of the Philipino ring icon are US President Barack Obama at #3, Michael Jackson at #6 and Brad Pitt at #21.

Manny ranked ahead of the following: Tiger Woods at #30, Kobe Bryant at #33 and Lebron James at #42.
