The main event of UFC 104 featured current UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida in his first defense of the title he wrestled from TUF Season 10 coach Rashad Evans at UFC 98 against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, the former PRIDE Middleweight Grand Prix Tournament Winner.
The fight was a tactical one as each fighter carefully “felt” each other all throughout the fight. They had their respective moments. What’s shocking for Machida fans is that Shogun was able to neutralize Machida’s vaunted counter strikes and repeatedly tagged him with leg kicks.
When the smoke was cleared, Shogun might have failed to slay The Dragon but left it brutally wounded. For the first time ever, Machida lost not one but two UFC rounds and he really looked vulnerable.
UFC 104: Machida vs Shogun was scheduled for October 24, 2009 (October 25, Sunday here in the Philippines) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Well, Zuffa has been strict nowadays that they keep removing these videos. Talk about copyright issues.
I found another source. I hope it should work now.

Have to say , lucky decision for machida, coulda worked a bit harder…looked a bit flat at the end.

shogun was clearly landing the harder shots, higher volume of strikes, and in the end, machida looked fatigued and damaged. shame on th3 judges. shogun got the short end of th stick.
