Google has been running a series of doodles for the past few days now featuring characters from the TV show, Sesame Street.
Why? It’s just Google’s way of honoring the longest running children’s program on US television which will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary on November 10.
After featuring Big Bird and the Cookie Monster, the tandem of Bert and Ernie is now seen waving at Google users all over the world.

Bert and Ernie are one of the most famous Sesame Street characters. They are room mates and best buddies
Because of their color and appearance, Ernie is supposed to represent a round orange and Bert, a yellow banana.
I don’t know if its true but they are also rumored to be gay lovers. Why, Ernie even has a rubber ducky.
Who do you think the next Sesame Street character to be featured as a doodle will be?

Elmo! If they do feature Elmo, I hope they go the extra mile of replacing the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button with “Elmo is Feeling Lucky” in honor of this character who always refers to himself in the third person (e.g. instead of saying I’m hungry, he says, Elmo is hungry).
