Jake Shields, currently the #3 ranked welterweight in the world by MMAWeekly and ranked #4 by Sherdog will meet MTV’s Bully Beatdown host Jason “Mayhem” Miller for the Strikeforce Middleweight Championship belt recently vacated by Cung Lee who ventured in an acting career (see Tekken).

The two will fight as a co-main event between Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko and Brett “The Black Grim” Rogers at Strikeforce: Fedor vs Rogers which will be held at Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, USA on November 7, 2009.

Shields sports a record of 23 wins (3 by KO, 10 by submission) 4 losses and 1 draw.

Miller has a record of 22 wins (4 by KO, 13 by submission) 6 losses and 1 no-contest.

While the two have an almost identical record, Shields is at the top of his game having not lost in almost five years, winning 12 in a row during that time and finishing 6 of his last 7 opponents in the first round.

They are also both excellent submission artists but Shields again has the upper hand due to the quality of opponents he has faced all these years.

I predict a submission win by Shields in the 3rd Round.
