On November 10, 1969, the TV show Sesame Street had its premiere episode. Fast forward to today, the show is still going strong and is in fact celebrating its 40th year of providing fun and entertainment to children all over the world.
To honor the longest running children’s program on US television, Google brought together its ensemble of Muppets at their homepage as a doodle.

This is the culmination of the week-long series of doodles featuring Sesame Street characters by Google.
It started with Big Bird on November 4, followed by the Cookie Monster, Bert and Ernie, Oscar the Grouch, Elmo and The Count.
Hmm, I wonder why Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy are not around.
Clicking on the doodle will direct you to the search results page for the phrase “Sesame Street”. Check out Sesame Street’s Wikipedia entry and videos at their YouTube channel.
Thanks to Google for this series. It really was fun!
Happy 40th Anniversary Sesame Street!
NOTE: Here in the Philippines, a local version of Sesame Street was made in 1984 which lasted until 1997. It was named “Batibot”. It made a brief comeback in 1998 but tough competition from foreign channels like Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon as well as from local morning TV programs ultimately contributed to its demise.
It introduced Filipinos to characters like Pong Pagong and Kiko Matsing.
Check out its Wikipedia entry.

Defunct na ang Batibot bro. Nalaos na dahil wala nang nanonood na mga Pinoy kids. Puro Cartoon Network at anime na kasi ang nakahiligan eh.
