In the main event of UFC 106: Ortiz vs Griffin 2 on November 21, 2009 at at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA; Tito “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” meets Forrest Griffin inside the Octagon for the second time.
After a one-year break from the world of mixed-martial arts, Tito Ortiz returns to the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) organization after being defeated by UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida at UFC 84. His new contract is for a six fight deal. He is hoping to regain his former status as one of the sport’s biggest stars, after becoming the biggest pay-per-view draw of 2006.
Meanwhile, Forrest Griffin is also hoping to get back on the winning track after his devastating loss via 1st round TKO to Anderson Silva at the co-main event of UFC 101.
The first meeting between them is at UFC 59: Reality Check last April 15, 2006. It was a classic as the two warriors went toe to toe against each other. When the dust settled, Ortiz won via a controversial split decision. Despite Griffin’s loss, he won over the fans with his ability to withstand everything that Tito could throw at him. It was named as the 2006 Fight of The Year by the Fighting Spirit magazine.
I expect this second meeting to be as explosive as the first one.
Tito Ortiz who has a record of 15 wins (8 by KO, 2 by submission), 6 losses and 1 draw is an excellent wrestler and is always looking for a takedown. Forrest Griffin who has a record of 16 wins (3 by KO, 7 by submission) and 6 losses has excellent boxing and Muay Thai skills. His long reach and leg kicks will keep Ortiz at bay.
I predict a win by Griffin via unanimous decision.

Maybe. Remember, he was inactive for a year so that might have contributed to his fatigue. While is Griffin naman eh bago lang naglaro sa UFC 101 just last August kaya mas ok ang stamina nia.
