Jon Fitch is widely considered to be one of the best welterweights in the UFC.

In fact, he was in the record books as being tied with Anderson Silva and Royce Gracie for most consecutive wins in the UFC, which was 8. But Anderson Silva has since set a new record with 10 consecutive wins.

He has amassed a record of 20 wins (4 by KO, 5 by submission), 3 losses and 1 no-contest. He had a chance for the welterweight championship crown at UFC 87 but he was defeated badly by  current champion Georges St-Pierre via Unanimous Decision. He is currently on a roll winning his last two fights against Akihiro Gono and Paulo Thiago. He hopes to get another crack at the title belt if he defeats his UFC 107 opponent, Mike Pierce.

Mike Pierce might be unknown to UFC fans but if his record is to be believed, this man is a serious contender as he is currently on a 6-fight winning streak. He even defeated the very well respected former WEC #1 Contender Brock Larson via unanimous decision in his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 19. His overall MMA record stands at 9 wins (5 by KO) with only 1 loss.

PREDICTION:

Jon Fitch and Mike Pierce are both wrestlers so we might see a ground game all through-out the fight. Fitch is not known to be a finisher and will be contented to leave it out to the judges.

Given his experience and competition, I give him a Unanimous Decision win.
