Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire, Jr. is set to defend his WBA interim super flyweight world championship crown against Mexican Manuel “Chango” Vargas this February 13, 2010.

The Donaire vs Vargas bout headlines a fight card featuring Hispanic and Filipino boxers in a pay-per-view boxing event titled Latin Fury 13 / Pinoy Power 3.

This is organized by Top Rank Promotions and will be held at the Las Vegas Hilton, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Donaire is originally expected to fight Mexican Gerson Guerrero (34-8, 26 KOs) but was canceled when Guerrero failed his pre-fight eye exam.

Nonito Donaire, Jr. has a professional record of 22 wins and 1 loss with 14 of his wins coming via KO. He is currently the WBA interim world champion in the super flyweight, and is rated by The Ring as the #6 pound-for-pound best boxer in the world. He is also the former IBF and IBO flyweight champion of the world. His last fight was against Rafael Concepción of Panama last August 15, 2009 where he won via Unanimous Decision.

Manuel Vargas has a professional record of 25 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw with 11 of his wins coming via KO. His last fight was against Filipino Donnie Nietes on September 12, 2009 where he lost via Split Decision.
