Tomorrow is February 14 which only means one thing to a lot of lovers out there, it’s Valentine’s Day. It is a day of celebrating love and affection between intimate companions.
Valentine’s Day is named after St.Valentine although the true identity of the man is shrouded in mystery as there are actually three St. Valentine’s – one a priest, one a bishop, and little is known about the third. All were martyrs. According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first ‘valentine’ greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl – who may have been his jailor’s daughter – who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed “From your Valentine”.

Nate “KryptoNate” Robinson successfully defended the crown he captured when he jumped over the 6’11″ Dwight “Superman” Howard in last year’s Sprite Slam Dunk contest.
In this year’s NBA Slam Dunk Contest 2010 edition, Nate despite standing only 5 feet and 9 inches becomes the first 3-time winner of the annual dunk contest.
He faced Gerald Wallace, Shannon Brown and DeMar DeRozan in a not so entertaining dunk contest. Perhaps, if it were the Lebrons, Kobes and Wades fans were hoping, we were in for a thrilling ride.

Despite a tragedy to Nodar Kumaritashvili of Georgia that struck hours before the opening ceremony, the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics is going strong.
The Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics is expected to last from February 12-28, 2010 with 82 nations sending a total of 2,629 athletes. They will compete for 86 gold medals in fifteen sports events categorized into three.

The 21st rendition of the Winter Olympics officially named as the XXI Olympic Winter Games has its opening ceremonies held today at Vancouver, Canada. The 2010 Winter Olympics will be the third Olympics hosted by Canada.
The sporting event held once every four years would be incomplete without its adorable mascots. The life-sized mascots in costume entertain the crowd while the plush toy versions are usually given to winners at the medal podium.

The 2010 Winter Olympics begins today at Vancouver, Canada. This is already the 21st rendition of the Winter Olympics held every four years and participated in by more than 80 countries all over the world.

To celebrate the event, Google is on its homepage a doodle of what looks like athletes marching while waving their national flags. The letter “l” is replace by an Olympic torch and flame. It is clearly a scene from the Vancouver 2010 opening ceremony.
