First Blogversary Report: Top Commenters

First Blogversary Report: Top Commenters

Category: Personal

A blog post is lifeless without comments from the readers so I’m glad that there are people who actually read my posts (even if they’re nonsensical) and shared their  own footprint regarding the topic.

In the first year of this web site’s existence which lasted from February 12, 2009 to February 12, 2010, I was able to write 429 blog posts. On my blog posts, a total of 1,516 comments were left. That’s an average of 3.53 comments per blog post.

Excluded from that number were 6,303 spam comments captured by my Akismet spam filter.

To track those who are always commenting, I installed the Top Commentators Widget on my sidebar. The top 10 people with the most comments appear on the widget. If they provide their web site URL, a dofollow link is automatically provided to their site. This web site has a Google Page Rank of 3 so as long as you are in the list, some of my Google juice is passed on to your site.

Since I am resetting this widget, I am listing here my top 10 commenters. This is a good way to reward them with a permanent dofollow link to their web site.

1. enad (with 59 comments) – owner of The Filipino Blogger. He has not been active lately since he is busy reviewing for his board exam. Good luck!

2. Ianemv (with 42 comments) – my colleague who helped me a lot in making my web site what it is today. He is a big music fan and is reflected at his web site Shared Corner.

3. Winziph (with 30 comments) – a 22-year old guy from Pampanga. The young man behind Zipping In.

4. miah (with 26 comments) – this young lass from Davao City is a Mafia Wars addict. She writes Random Thoughts of an InsoMIAH.

5. Vlad (with 24 comments) – the Stalking Minds author. In a way, we share a common story. Our wives had a miscarriage but was still blessed with a healthy kid months later.

6. mike (with 22 comments) – one of my former colleagues at work. He is not a blogger but hopes to be one someday.

7. ricojake (with 22 comments) – his is a free PLR articles republishing website as he loves to share Informative Topics.

8. dimaks (with 19 comments) – this kababayan from Cotabato City owns the web site Ctrl + Alt + Delete. He is a Japan-based Civil Engineer who loves to make money online.

9. Pastilan (with 17 comments) – one of the few bloggers I have known who actually made it big time with blogging. He actually quit his day job to concentrate full time with his web sites. Techno Techniques is just one of his money makers.

10. James Moralde (with 15 comments) – author of He likes SEO and is a big fan of the mind sciences.

Starting this day, my Top Commenters plugin will reset every quarter (3 months) instead of 1 year. At the end of each quarter, I will make a blog post like this to reward my top commenters. I’m still thinking of some monetary reward of sorts. However, I’ll be limiting the list to only include the top five. This I hope will encourage more comments as bloggers vie for their position.

See you.

    ark Reply:

    ark Reply:

Hehe, wag na. Ayaw ko namang ihonor ang mga spammers eh.
