Lewis Carroll is actually the pseudonym of English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson.
The author is noted for his facility at word play, logic, and fantasy. He writes under the literary nonsense genre which refers to a style or motif in literature that plays with the conventions of language and the rules of logic and reason via sensical and non-sensical elements. The effect of nonsense is often caused by an excess of meaning, rather than a lack of it.
His best novels Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass are considered as classics. They are famous for quotes uttered by its various peculiar and anthropomorphic characters so much so that they became part of popular culture.
In the movie Alice in Wonderland which is directed by Tim Burton, the screenwriter Linda Woolverton made sure not to left out some of these quotes.
Here are some Alice in Wonderland (2010) quotes that appear in the movie trailers and video clips:
Alice: This is impossible.
The Mad Hatter: Only if you believe it is.
The Mad Hatter: There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger! Some say to survive it: You need to be as mad as a hatter. Which luckily I am.
The Red Queen: Off with their heads!
The Red Queen: I love a warm pig belly for my aching feet.
The Mad Hatter: [speaking to the Red Queen] What a regrettably large head you have. I would very much like to hat it. I use to hat The White Queen, you know. Her head was so small.
The Red Queen: It’s tiny. It’s a pimple of a head.
Cheshire Cat: I never get involved in politics.
The Mad Hatter: Have you any idea why a raven is like a writing desk?

The last movie I saw that entertained both me and my son was ‘The Thunder Thief’. This Alice in Wonderland must be one good movie to see too, although I’ve read the story far too many times during bedtime for both of my kids.

Yeah, I made the mistake of reading a story to them one time. Now, they won’t sleep without it.

Alice: I try to believe as many as six impossible things before breakfast. Count them Alice. One, there are drinks that make you shrink. Two, there are foods that make you grow. Three, animals can talk. Four, Cats can disapear. Five, there’s a place called Underland. Six, I can slay the Jabberwocky.
