Pacman Succesfully Defends Welterweight Belt Against ClotteyCategory: Boxing
Everytime Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao fights, fans cram around the boxing ring and their TV sets to watch another masterful display of boxing skills by the Filipino pride.
This March 13, 2010 at the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas, USA, fans will again be treated to another “Event” when Pacquiao faces Joshua “Grand Master” Clottey.
At stake is Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight belt. Manny has a record of 50 wins (38 by KO), 3 losses and 2 draws while Clottey’s is 35 wins (20 by KO) and 3 losses.
This bout was set into motion after the fallout of negotiations of a possible megafight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd “Pretty Boy” Mayweather, Jr. due to the latter camp’s accusations of performance-enhancing drugs (PED) use by the former.
Clottey was immediately brought in to fill the void. He is coming from a bloody loss via split decision to Miguel Cotto last June 13, 2009 which Pacquiao himself dealt a 12th round TKO last November 14, 2009 to make history by becoming a seven-time world champion in as many divisions.
