On June 28, 2008, David “Dangerous” Diaz lost his WBC Lightweight Championship title to Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao via 9th round knockout earning Pacquiao his fifth world championship in five different weight divisions.
He will fight Humberto “La Zorrita” Soto at the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas, USA.
Diaz is an American southpaw sporting a record of 35 wins (17 via KO), 2 losses and 1 draw. His only losses were to Kendall Holt via 8th round TKO and Manny Pacquiao. His last bout was against Jesús Chávez on September 26, 2009 which he won by majority decision.
Meanwhile, Soto of Mexico has a career record of 50 wins (32 via KO), 7 losses and 2 draws. He is the current WBC Super Featherweight champion defending it successfully 3 times. On December 12, 2009, Soto moved up to the lightweight division and defeated former two-time champion Jesús Chávez by a 10 round unanimous decision.
