Jose Luis Castillo vs Alfonso Gomez Video

In the undercard of The Event: Pacquiao vs Clottey on March 13, 2010 at the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas, USA, former WBC Lightweight champion José Luis “El Temible” Castillo will meet Alfonso Gómez in a battle of two Mexican warriors.

Castillo (60-9-2, 52 KOs) is best known for his grueling fight against Diego Corrales for the WBC-WBO lightweight title unification, on May 7, 2005. Many regard this fight as one of the best of all time, and it won Ring Magazine fight of the year for 2005.

Gomez (21-4-2, 10 KOs) is a  competitor on reality TV show The Contender, where he ended up ranked third out of sixteen fighters. His last fight was against Jesus Soto-Karass on the undercard of “Firepower” Pacquiao vs Cotto where he won via Technical Decision.

UPDATE March 13, 2010: Jose Luis Castillo failed to leave his corner for Round 6 giving the TKO victory for Alfonso Gomez.
