What is facbook?
Facbook is second only to facebok as the most misspelled variation of the #1 social online site in the world.
Based on the Google trends graph below, the number of people who enters both wrong spelling of facebook in the Google search engine is rising.
I am amazed of this despite facbook‘s overwhelming growing popularity. It’s a simple and popular word and yet, many fails to spell it properly.
In the Google SERPs, facbook has 453,000 results.
It’s actually a HITLOD; a high-traffic low density keyword.
Just like with my blog post about facebok, this is also an SEO experiment to check how many took a detour here while searching for their beloved facbook.
After all, starting to when I published that on January 23, 2010 up to yesterday (50 days total), that blog post has already netted me 15,986 page views and made me $30.53 in Google Adsense. That’s an average of 319.72 page views and $.61 per day. eCPM is low at only $1.91 but I can live with that. What I earned because of that post can be even more but there’s no way to track how much I made for my other ad networks (Chitika, Infolinks, Clicksor).
Let’s see what facbook brings me.

If I’m not mistaken, your ‘facebok’ page is now at #5 on google. Aside from on-page optimization, did you actively do backlinking for that page?
Now, here comes ‘facbook’.

For offsite optimization, I used social bookmarks to gain backlinks for that post.
For onsite optimization, some of my blog posts are linked to it.
