The first pay-per-view fight card in World Extreme Cagefighting history will happen at WEC 48 on April 24, 2010.
After being purchased by Zuffa in 2006 to become the sister promotion to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), WEC aired its events LIVE on the Versus TV network channel for free.
For its first foray in PPV, WEC 48 offers its most explosive event yet with two championship bouts in the main card.
In the main event, Jose Aldo will defend his WEC Featherweight title for the first time against former champ Urijah “California Kid” Faber.
Ben “Smooth” Henderson also defends his WEC Lightweight title for the first time against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in the co-main event. This will be a rematch after their first bout at WEC 43 won by Henderson.
WEC 48 will take place at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California, USA.
