Saturday Night HBO Boxing presents a battle betwen two former welterweight champions this May 8, 2010 – 9:45 p.m. ET/6:45 p.m. PT.

Former 3-time World Champion Paul “The Punisher” Williams and former Welterweight World Champion Kermit “The Killer” Cintron (32-2-1, 28 KOs) will engage in a non-title fight LIVE from the Home Depot Center in Carson, Califronia, USA.

Paul Williams (38-1, 27 KOs) is often called the most avoided fighter in boxing due to his ring style and stature being 6″2′ and considered extremely tall for a welterweight. Williams showed his power last December in an exciting slugfest with Sergio Martinez, and has faced former or current champs in six of his last eight fights.

Kermit Cintron (32-2, 28 KOs) whose only pro losses were to Antonio Margarito, is known for his knockouts.

UPDATE: The fight was stopped in the 5th Round when Cintron could not continue after a freak accident where he fell out of the ring unintentionally.
