UFC 113 | Paul Daley Throws Cheap ShotCategory: MMA
The sport of mixed-martial arts is rough.
But after all that banging and trying to kill your opponent (OK, not really), each fighter is expected to have grace in defeat. There’s no room for unsportsmanlike behavior in a sport still trying to gain mainstream acceptance (see the Strikeforce brawl).
At UFC 113 last May 8, 2010 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Paul Daley did a big no-no that might jeopardize his UFC career.
After the 3rd round of his match with Josh Koscheck ended, Daley came up behind Koscheck and threw a cheap shot.
It’s a good thing that referee Dan Miragliotta immediately grabbed Daley or else a UFC brawl might have happened.
However, I would have liked to see that happen in a boring match like the Koscheck-Daley one which Koscheck won via unanimous decision.
