24 has been one of my most favorite TV series ever (aside from Lost who had its series finale yesterday).

I remembered when Season 2 was tagalized (translated into Tagalog) by ABS-CBN last November 2003.

After watching the first episode, not only was I hooked but my brothers Macoy and Egi, brother-in-law Jo and our neighbor Abs as well.

Every Friday night at 10:00 PM, we would gather around our television set complete with chichirya and watch how Jack Bauer try to stop a terrorist cell from detonating a nuclear bomb in Los Angeles.

I also remembered how we hated Sherry Palmer, President David Palmer’s wife because of meddling in the affairs of her husband and because she looks like as someone from Planet of the Apes.

But the best part about the show? It has Elisha Cuthbert as the cute and fragile Kim Bauer, Jack’s daughter.

24 really kept us on the edge of our seats and it was one slambang, bitin-ka-na-ba affair for all us.

After eight seasons spanning almost nine years and 192 episodes, one of the most critically acclaimed and most successful television series in US history has come to an end.

24 air its series finale on May 24, 2010. The finale ran two hours.

24 features Jack Bauer, a former Los Angeles based Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), for whom he is characterized as a highly proficient agent, but one taking a ‘ends justify the means’ regardless of the perceived morality of some of his actions. Throughout the series most of the main plot elements are political thriller like in nature. A typical plot has Jack Bauer racing against the clock as he attempts to prevent multiple terrorist plots, including Presidential assassination attempts, nuclear, biological and chemical threats, cyber attacks, as well as conspiracies  dealing with government and corporate corruption.

The 24 series finale featured the 23rd and 24th hours in Day 8 of Jack Bauer’s life.

It started at 2:00 PM and ended at 4:00 PM.
