Appearing for the first time in All Star Comics #8 on December 1941, Wonder Woman has been the most recognizable super heroine in the DC Comics Universe.
She is an Amazon whose powers include superhuman strength, flight, super-speed, super-stamina, and super-agility.
Outside of her powers, she is most famously known for her sexy outfit.
To celebrate the release of Issue # 600 (July 2010) of Wonder Woman comics, the writers decided to depict her in a new costume to coincide with a new story line about a world rewritten by the Gods, leading to a new origin and new outfit to the Amazonian princess.
Check out her transformation after the jump.
After 69 years, Wonder Woman lost the singlet and started wearing a body-suit and jacket, while maintaining the iconic tiara and lasso in the new costume.
J. Michael Straczynski who wrote the story has this to say,
“She’s been locked into pretty much the exact same outfit since her debut in 1941.
If you’re going to make a statement about bringing Wonder Woman into the 21st century, you need to be bold and you need to make it visual. I wanted to toughen her up, and give her a modern sensibility.
What woman only wears only one outfit for 60-plus years?”
What do you think of the change?
