2010 NBA Free-Agent Signings | Carlos Boozer to Chicago BullsCategory: Basketball
After news of Dwyane Wade resigning with the Miami Heat and Chris Bosh joining him starting next season, the Chicago Bulls immediately secured the services of the next best power forward available from the 2010 free agent pool, Carlos Boozer.
After playing for six seasons for the Utah Jazz, Boozer leaves the team to play with the Chicago Bulls on a five-year contract worth $80 million.
Boozer is a two time NBA All-Star and a member of the gold-medal winning Team USA at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Not bad for a player drafted in the 2nd Round of the 2002 NBA Draft picked 34th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He averaged 19.5 points and 11.2 rebounds in his final season with Utah.
His arrival gives the Bulls a formidable pair in the frontcourt with center Joakim Noah and a chance to play alongside another excellent point guard in Derrick Rose after teaming up with Deron Williams in Utah.If you want to receive my latest posts, please subscribe to my full feed RSS or have them delivered through email.
