With the huge success of the films The National Treasure and The National Treasure (Book of Secrets), the team behind it returns to make another movie that is sure to delight movie enthusiasts of all ages.
Actor Nicolas Cage, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Jon Turteltaub and Walt Disney Pictures team up for the fantasy adventure film, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
The movie’s plot is said to have been loosely based on the Sorcerer’s Apprentice segment in Disney’s Fantasia, which in turn is based on the late 1890s symphonic poem by Paul Dukas and 1797 Johann Wolfgang von Goethe ballad.
Nicolas Cage plays a sorcerer based on the magician Yen Sid while Jay Baruchel plays the apprentice based on the character played by Mickey Mouse in Fantasia.
PLOT (Wikipedia):
Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and these unlikely partners will work together to stop the forces of darkness.
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is directed by Jon Turteltaub and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer with a budget of $150 million.

Jay Baruchel was the voice behind ‘Hiccup’ in ‘How to Train a Dragon’. My son (and me) likes the dragon movie and we’re sure we’re both gonna like the Apprentice the way we like Harry Potter. Looks like Jay just got 2 more new fans.

Yeah Ark. His first ever movie was around 5 years ago, Peter Pan – Return to Neverland. While other kids his age were scared and pleading for their dads to get them out of the theatre, he was wide eyed awed at the gigantic screen before him and was mesmerized by Peter Pan.
As for my little daughter, she prefers to bring her Barbie doll and play with it inside the movie house. Not that fanatic about movies, I guess.

I have an eight-year old son, my first. I hope he inherits me and my wife’s big screen addiction too.
