StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, The Wait is Almost OverCategory: Computers
All ye Starcraft fans!
The decade-long wait for the sequel to the most popular real-time strategy PC game of all time is almost over.
As the most anticipated game for 2010, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty will be finally released a week from now.
The original Starcraft was one of the games that consumed most of my entire waking hours when I was still a student. Heck, I was so addicted to it that I even failed one of my college subjects because I concentrated on perfecting my Terran, Zerg and Protoss strategies instead of making an electronic computer design work.
This game is so addicting that until now, many are still playing it (not including me anymore) and in fact, there are tournaments held for the game.
When Blizzard announced its official release date last May 3, 2010, fans hoped that this time, it’s for real. After all, it’s schedule was always moved to a later date as Blizzard wanted to make sure it is well-refined and free of glitches.
The campaign storyline of StarCraft II takes place four years after StarCraft: Brood War, and features the return of a number of characters from the original series; including Zeratul, Arcturus Mengsk, Artanis, Sarah Kerrigan, and Jim Raynor. Players will also revisit the original series’ worlds, like Char, Mar Sara, and Braxis; as well as new worlds, such as the jungle planet Bel’Shir. It has been confirmed that the Xel’Naga, the ancient space-faring race responsible for creating the Protoss and the Zerg, will play a major role in the story. (Wikipedia)
Starcraft II features the return of the three races from the original game: Protoss, Terran, and Zerg. However unlike the original game, it will focus more heavily on the multiplayer aspect.
Starcraft 2’s release date is slated on July 27, 2010.
Game zombies will surely have a feast day.
