2010 NBA Trade Rumors, Chris Paul Wants Out

2010 NBA Trade Rumors | Chris Paul Wants Out

Category: Basketball

.....

At Carmelo Anthony’s wedding to Lala Vasquez last July 10, Chris Paul announced in his speech that he, Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony will form their own big three.

This of course is a reference to the Miami Heat’s trio of Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

Some dismissed it as just a joke; perhaps a fruit of Paul’s wishful thinking since his team the New Orleans Hornets is not expected to rise out of last season’s demise anytime soon.

However in a news today, CP3 had requested to be traded to either the New York Knicks, Orlando Magic or the LA Lakers.

After Lebron James decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers, is this the start of superstar-players-bolting-out-of-their-teams-to-fast-track-their-way-to-a -championship-ring trend?

These are the scenarios; if Paul joins:

- the Knicks, he teams-up with center Amare Stoudemire recently signed from the Phoenix Suns. Carmelo might join them in 2011 when his contract with the Denver Nuggets expires. Unless of course something dramatic happens and ‘Melo joins the team as early as next season.

- the Magic, he teams up with Dwight Howard. I already foresee the man-child always flying ala-Superman to catch those lob passes Paul will be throwing his way. Orlando will have to give up Vince Carter though.

- the Lakers, he fortifies the championship duo of Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. LA might give up Lamar Odom or Andrew Bynum to get him.

I think, the best scenario for Paul would be to join the Lakers.

Hmmm, I smell another ring for Kobe. Oh, he will get to tie Michael Jordan too.

This remains to be seen.
