Suffering the first loss of his MMA career when he was disqualified on December 5, 2009 after throwing multiple illegal 12-6 elbows on the downed Matt Hamill at the TUF 10 season finale, Jon “Bones” Jones immediately was back on the right track after defeating Brandon Vera at UFC on Versus 1.

In the second showing of the Ultimate Fighting Championship on VERSUS at UFC Live: Jones vs Matyushenko, Jones is set to meet Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko in a light heavyweight main event matchup.

UFC Live: Jones vs Matyushenko will be held on August 1, 2010 at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California, USA.

American Jon Jones (10 wins-1 loss, 6 KOs / 2 submissions) is one of the most explosive fighters in the UFC today and is considered one of the top young prospects in the game. He is noted for having the longest reach in the UFC at 84.5 inches.

Vladimir Matyushenko (24 wins-4 losses, 7 KOs / 7 submissions) from Belarus is the first and only International Fight League light heavyweight champion. Many major MMA publications considered Matyushenko to be one of the top ranked light heavyweight fighters in the world in 2008.

He is a veteran who holds notable wins over Yushin Okami and Pedro Rizzo, and is 2-0 since his return to the UFC.
