After yesterday’s mysterious doodle appearing at Google’s homepage, another one has replaced it that is more mysterious albeit simpler.
While the September 7 Google logo is very colorful and interactive, today’s version is just a plain gray logo. It becomes interesting however because as you type something on the search bar below it, the gray logo will gradually transform into the usual Google colors.
It again baffled many as to what Google is really cooking up.
It’s tweet earlier today offers a little clue.
Our doodle is dressing up in its brightest colors for something exciting coming very soon…
Last year, Google did a similar mysterious series of doodles as a tribute to H.G. Wells, the “Father of Science Fiction”.
Many thought that time that Google will launch a new product only to just be proven wrong.
I think that this time though, Google really is about to launch a new product or service.

Great post I always love something different to see. I usually use Bing just because of the different pictures.

I guess that’s the reason why Google added the background feature of its search home page.

I think it has something to do with the new feature called Realtime search. I don’t think it is already up but it is just like searching using a keyword and getting instant result while typing it.

It’s actually called “Instant Search” and it’s already up. Cool!

Funny I did not notice this. My sole search engine is Google and no other. I usually see this quirky changes in its logo like the ones where they featured cartoon characters (e.g. Elmo, etc). As of this writing, the logo is back to its default design. However, I noticed that as soon as I type something, it immediately displays results even before I finish what I intend to write. And the results changes as I continue writing. I think Google has become even faster than ever.

Yes, the change is due to Google already integrating a new feature, the “Instant Search”. They claim that by predicting your search and showing results before you finish typing, Google Instant can save 2-5 seconds per search.

That is pretty cool. I like how google switched it up sometimes. They should do it daily like Bing.
