Wladimir Klitschko vs Samuel Peter 2 Video

At their first matchup five years ago, Wladimir “Dr. Steelhammer” Klitschko was knocked down twice in the 5th and once in the 10th round by then undefeated Samuel “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter.

However, Klitschko survived and won via Unanimous Decision.

On September 11, 2010, Peter will try to avenge his first career loss and finally defeat a Klitschko (he had also lost to the older Vitali Klitschko) in a rematch to be held at the Commerzbank-Arena Frankfurt, Germany.

Wladimir Klitschko vs Samuel Peter 2 rematch is billed as “Showdown in Frankfurt”.

On the line is Klitschko’s “The Ring”, IBF and WBO World Heavyweight title belts.

Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko (54 wins-3 losses, 48 KOs) is the unified IBF, WBO, IBO and Ring Magazine Champion of the world. His older brother, Vitali Klitschko, is the current WBC world heavyweight champion.

Nigerian Samuel Peter (34 wins-3 losses, 27 KOs) is a former WBC World Heavyweight Champion. His first professional loss came at the hands of Wladimir Klitschko  in a title eliminator. After winning the WBC championship Peter defended his belt against Wladimir’s elder brother Vitali Klitschko who had just returned from retirement. He lost his title becoming one of the few heavyweight champions to retire in their corner during a heavyweight championship fight. Peter refused to meet the bell for round 9

The Wladimir Klitschko vs Samuel Peter 2 rematch “Showdown in Frankfurt” main event will be held at the Commerzbank-Arena Frankfurt, Germany on September 11, 2010.

UPDATE: Klitschko battered and bloodied Peter before finally stopping him with 1:22 left in the 10th round of another dominating performance.  Klitschko unleashed a flurry of blows to send Peter to the canvas, an uppercut and left hook doing the final bit of damage. Referee Robert Byrd began counting but then waved his hands to call the fight over.

Klitschko has won his last 13 fights, only twice going the distance and both times winning by a landslide on the scorecards. He’s stamped himself as perhaps the most dominant heavyweight of his generation—with the exception of perhaps his brother Vitali, the WBC champion who will be in the ring next month against Shannon Briggs.
