The twelfth season of UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter had its season premier episode last week.
As expected, UFC President Dana White met the fighters in a customary bleep-filled motivational speech. He also introduced the coaches, UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and number one contender Josh Koscheck.
There were 28 fighters coming from the middleweight division and after Dana’s announcement on the wild card entry, the elimination bouts were shown. That’s 14 fights!
Of course they’re edited or else the show’s 50 minutes would not accommodate them all.
Here are the results of each match:
- Marc Stevens defeated T.J. O’Brien via TKO (punches) at 0:13 of round 1
- Spencer Paige defeated Steve Magdaleno via unanimous decision (20-18, 20-18, 20-18)
- Nam Phan defeated Mike Budnik via TKO (liver strike and punches) in round 1
- Andy Main defeated Jason Brenton via submission (triangle choke/armbar) in round 1
- Jonathan Brookins defeated Ran Weathers via unanimous decision (20-18, 20-18, 20-18)
- Sako Chivitchian defeated Toby Grear via unanimous decision (20-18, 20-18, 20-18)
- Jeff Lentz defeated Daniel Head via submission (rear naked choke) in round 2
- Alex Caceres defeated Paul Barrow via submission (rear naked choke) in round 1
- Michael Johnson defeated Pablo Garza via unanimous decision (20-18, 20-18, 20-18)
- Aaron Wilkinson defeated Mike Richman via unanimous decision (20-18, 20-18, 20-18)
- Kyle Watson defeated Joseph Duffy via submission (rear naked choke) in round 1
- Sevak Magakian defeated JJ Ambrose via unanimous decision (20-18, 20-18, 20-18)
- Cody McKenzie defeated Amir Khillah via technical submission (guillotine choke) in round 1
- Dane Sayers defeated Ariel Sexton via submission (standing rear naked choke) in round 2
Most impressive of these was the first fight, Stevens knocked-out O’Brien in only 13 seconds!
I also like Phan’s liver blow and Caceres’ Bruce Lee imitation complete with the iconic yellow jumpsuit.
Lentz saying “Don’t count me out” to GSP was definitely a wake-up call not to judge anyone by their looks.
Two of the fighters eliminated here still get the chance to be picked as wild cards to fight in the second round.
Who do you think will it be?
Also, at the end of the TUF 12 Episode 1 video, Koscheck was seen choking some big dude.
Hmmm, trouble brewing this early?
The coaches will get to select their fighters as well.
Watch all of these in The Ultimate Fighter Season 12 Episode 2.
TUF s12e02 titled “Well Played” will be shown at Spike TV on September 22, 2010.

Well done for Leroy. He proved that he’s not like Kimbo Slice who can only win in street brawls but not inside the Octagon.

He called it the “Jedi Ponytail” or something like that. You can see it in Star Wars movies on Jedis, naturally. And Lentz deserved that loss. Arrogant fool should quit with the bad habits of smoking

Lentz is a fool. This is TUF. This is a reality show where you must stay fit as possible in order to survive. He should not be here.
