Charice Pempengco Makes First Appearance as Sunshine Corazon on Season 2 Debut of Glee
Category: EntertainmentThe most awaited second season of the American musical comedy-drama television series Glee finally had its premiere today.
For millions of Filipinos all over the world, Charice Pempengco is a source of pride as she makes her first appearance as the character Sunshine Corazon, a foreign exchange student.
In the episode titled “Audition”, Charice first appeared on-screen for one second humming along with the cast as they sing “Empire State of Mind”.
She let her voice heard first during a bathroom confrontation with Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) where Berry encouraged Sunshine to join glee club, because she thought Sunshine couldn’t speak English and she was adoring her when they were singing “Empire State of Mind”.
But upon hearing her sing “Telephone”, Rachel felt threatened.
After some hitches, Sunshine made her audition and what an audition it was!
Her rendition of Beyonce’s “Listen” gave me goosebumps.

For those in the dark, Pempengco is a Filipina singer and actress who rose to popularity through YouTube. Dubbed by Oprah Winfrey as the Most Talented Girl in the World, she is the first Asian artist in history to land in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart with the single “Pyramid”.

Yeah, that was Charice’s bag. I think they like to portray her as a nerd and with looks that can be deceiving.
