New Nike “Boom” Ad Features Manny PacquiaoCategory: Boxing
Shoe giant Nike has a new series of advertisements titled “Boom”.
The “boom” catchphrase is supposed to signify that one moment in time where all you can do is just say, “boom!”
“Eureka!” might also work but that’s too old-school.
One of the athletes featured is pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao.
In Pacquiao’s version, NFL players Tim Tebow and Ndamukong Suh are showing getting tailored and watching the Pacquiao vs David Diaz fight in 2008. As Pacquiao gives the ending knockout, each man yells… guess what? Boom!
I think Nike should have used Pacquiao’s 2nd round knockout of Ricky Hatton.
There’s more “boom” to that.
After the Pacquiao vs Hatton fight, David Diaz called Pacquiao to thank him for the new highlight-reel stoppage of Hatton and they can now stop using his highlight and start using Ricky Hatton’s.
Well sorry man, Hatton is already destroying himself to oblivion and Nike wants no part of that so you have to deal with it.
Watch Manny Pacquiao take on Antonio Margarito for the vacant WBC Super Welterweight World Title on November 13, 2010 from the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA.
Let’s hope we see another BOOM! moment. If you want to receive my latest posts, please subscribe to my full feed RSS or have them delivered through email. Just enter your email address below and hit the Subscribe button.
