This is the main event of UFC 120: a homegrown talent versus an outsider.

English Michael “The Count” Bisping (19 wins, 3 losses, 12 KOs / 4 submissions) is a  former Cage Warriors Fighting Championship light heavyweight  champion and former Cage Rage light heavyweight champion. He was The Ultimate Fighter Season 3 winner. At UFC 100, he was on the receiving end on the widely considered as the most devastating knockout in UFC history.

He won his last fight at UFC 114 against Dan Miller.

Japanese Yoshihiro “Sexyama” Akiyama (13 wins-2 losses, 5 KOs / 7 submissions) was a gold medalist at the 2001 Asian Championships and 2002 Asian Games for South Korea and Japan respectively. He was the 2006 K-1 HERO’S Light Heavyweight tournament champion.

Akiyama was victorious in his first UFC bout against Alan Belcher at UFC 100 but suffered defeat in his second bout against Chris Leben in UFC 116.
