If you know how to use a computer and access the Internet, chances are, you also have a Facebook account.
It’s akin to owning an email address.
It has become so popular that it has already overtaken Yahoo! and YouTube and now sits as the second most popular web site in the world. The number one rank still belongs to Google of course. For how long will that remain is the only question remaining.
In fact, Facebook has more than 500 million active users in July 2010, which is about one person for every fourteen in the world!
But do you know who created Facebook? Of that 500 million, I bet less than 5% knows that.
Well, it’s Mark Zuckerberg guys. I bet less than 50% of that 5% knows how to spell that.
He also happens to be Time’s Person of the Year for 2010.
To know more about Mark and the founding of the #1 Internet social networking website, check out the drama film The Social Network.
It stars Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg, Andrew Garfield as Eduardo Saverin and Justin Timberlake as Sean Parker.
SYNOPSIS (IMDB):
On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history… but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications.
The Social Network is directed by David Fincher and produced by Scott Rudin and Kevin Spacey for a budget of $50 million.
