With two consecutive losses now: a hearbreaking knockout loss to BJ Penn at UFC 107 and to John Hathaway at UFC 114, Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez plans to stick to the welterweight division and bounce back.

In the main card of UFC 121, Sanchez will face Paulo Thiago.

American Diego Sanchez (21 wins, 4 losses) is the winner of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter reality series. He was a former King of the Cage Welterweight champion. He is a very explosive fighter who has been involved in numerous Fight of the Night and Fight of the Year battles.

Brazilian Paulo Thiago (13 wins-1 loss, 2 KOs / 8 submissions) is often ranked among the top ten welterweights in the world by leading mixed martial arts publications. MMA Weekly currently ranks him at # 9, while Sherdog currently ranks him at # 7.

His last fight was against Martin Kampmann at UFC 115 where he lost via Unanimous Decision.
