During a break at yesterday’s Dallas Cowboys vs Minnesota Vikings game in the NFL, a commercial for the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm was unveiled for the first time.

The third expansion set for the most popular and most subscribed MMORPG in the world was announced at BlizzCon 2009 on August 21, 2009 with a  5-minute trailer.

No release date was yet announced that time. More than a year later and with fans already salivating, a December 7, 2010 release date was announced by Blizzard.

Cataclysm is expected to be Blizzard’s highest selling expansion yet to the ever so popular World of Warcraft.

The expansion includes two new races: Goblins for the Horde faction and the wolf-like Worgen for the Alliance faction. There will also be flying mounts added to main game world  of Azeroth, and the level cap will be raised to 85. There will also be new race/class combinations, entirely redesigned zones and guild levelling and achievements.

There will also be a new secondary skill of Archaeology and a Path of the Titans character progression, heroic settings are added to the classic dungeons Deadmines and Shadow Fang Keep and the classic end-boss Deathwing returns.

Cataclysm will reshape the way gamers see, feel and experience Azeroth as we know it.
