The most famous animal oracle in recent memory is dead.

At 2 years and 9 months, Paul the Octopus died in his sleep due to natural causes today in his tank at the Sea Life Centre in Oberhausen, Germany.

Paul became internationally famous for correctly predicting the winner of Germany’s seven matches at the 2010 World Cup, as well as Spain’s victory over the Netherlands in the final.
