The Walking Dead’s premiere episode last October 31, 2010 drew 5.3 million total viewers and 3.6 million viewers in the 18-49 demographics, the only demo that the advertisers, and thus the networks, really care about. Not only is that the biggest 18-49 audience for any series premiere on any cable network this year but it’s also the biggest numbers for any series in AMC’s history.
Wow, the show is off to a good start! With so many movies and TV shows about vampires, this one about zombies is a much needed break.
After watching the premiere, I can say that it did not disappoint and all the hoopla about it is justified.
Episode 1 opened with County Sheriff Rick Grimes shooting a little girl in the head. Of course, it’s a zombie.
Then, a flashback to when he wakes from a coma in an Atlanta hospital and meets two people who teach him than a zombie apocalypse is in motion.
When he run into a group of zombies in the middle of the city, he managed to survive by getting inside a tank. The episode ends and we were left hanging with a mysterious transmission over the tank’s radio saying, “Hey you. Dumbass in the tank. Cozy in there?”
Who could that be?

I am enjoying it too even though I have already grown tired of Resident Evil.
