Leonard Garcia vs Nam Phan Fight Video

Nam Phan Robbed of Victory at TUF 12 Finale!

Category: MMA

At the Semifinals Round of the Ultimate Fighter Season 12, Nam Phan lost against top pick Michael Johnson in a very close split decision.

In the first LIVE  televised fight in the UFC’s Featherweight division, Phan again lost via split decision to Leonard “Bad Boy” Garcia in the undercard of the TUF 12 Finale last December 4, 2010.

That fight was not without controversy as all except for the two judges who gave it to Garcia thought Phan won. UFC color analyst Joe Rogan even went on a tirade on LIVE television about the decision as fans chanted expletives.

Garcia said of the decision:

“I had it for Nam too. I got a couple of takedowns, but he beat me in the standup. I’ll come back to fight Nam again. That’s all I can say. I’m sorry Joe. I’m sorry. I called it the same thing”

Quote of the night:

“What? Asian brother can’t get no love?” – Nam Phan who is of Vietnamese heritage

RESULT: Garcia defeated Phan via split decision (29-28, 27-30, 29-28).

Leonard Garcia has been involved in fights decided by split decisions all his fighting career. The most famous was his fight with “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung at WEC 48 that was nominated for Fight of the Year at the recent World MMA Awards 2010.

Complete and absolute BS. At most Garcia won one round… Nam controlled the whole fight, not expending energy, flailing around like Garcia was doing. Nam was controlled, and hurt Garcia several times with head kicks, and good body blows.

The two judges that awarded the fight to Garcia should be reprimanded and sent back to MMA judging school. What an absolute disgrace.

This decision pissed me off for the rest of the evening. Dude was ROBBED.
