WEC 53 promises to be a can’t miss event as it features two championship fights in one night.

On December 16, 2010, at Jobing.com Arena in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale, Arizona, USA, WEC  Lightweight Champion Ben  “Smooth” Henderson and WEC Bantamweight Champion Dominick “Dominator” Cruz will defend their titles.

Henderson against Anthony “Showtime” Pettis and Cruz against Scott “Young Guns” Jorgensen.

The fight card is also packed with big names like Jamie Varner and Donald Cerrone.

* Lightweight Championship bout: Ben Henderson (c) vs. Anthony Pettis – Pettis defeated Henderson via unanimous decision (48-47, 49-46, 48-47) to become the New WEC Light Weight Champion – CRAZY ANTHONY PETTIS HEAD KICK!
* Bantamweight Championship bout: Dominick Cruz (c) vs. Scott Jorgensen – Cruz defeated Jorgensen via unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45)
* Lightweight bout: Donald Cerrone vs. Chris Horodecki – Cerrone defeated Horodecki via submission (triangle choke) at 2:43 of round 2.
* Lightweight bout: Bart Palaszewski vs. Kamal Shalorus – Kamal Shalorus defeated Bart Palaszewski via split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28).

* Lightweight bout: Zhang Tie Quan vs. Danny Downes – Downes defeated Zhang via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28).
* Lightweight bout: Jamie Varner vs. Shane Roller - Roller defeated Varner via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:55 of round 1.
* Bantamweight bout: Brad Pickett vs. Ivan Menjivar - Pickett defeated Menjivar via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
* Bantamweight bout: Eddie Wineland vs. Ken Stone - Wineland defeated Stone via KO (slam) at 2:11 of round 1.
* Lightweight bout: Danny Castillo vs. Will Kerr - Castillo defeated Kerr via KO (punches) at 1:25 of round 1.
* Lightweight bout: Ricardo Lamas vs. Yuri Alcantara - Alcantara defeated Lamas via KO (punches) at 3:26 of round 1.
* Bantamweight bout: Renan Barão vs. Chris Cariaso - Barão defeated Cariaso via submission (rear naked choke) at 3:47 of round 1.
