The Ultimate Fighting Championship capped another great year with UFC 124 setting a North American MMA record 23,152 attendees for a live gate of $4.586 million.
The event featured a rematch between UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck on December 11, 2010 at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Seeking out to prove that mixed-martial arts is now bigger (and more profitable) than boxing, the UFC has laid out its schedule for the next year, 2011.
The largest MMA promotion in the world typically holds a pay-per-view event every month from the USA. Events held at other international locations (like Canada, England and Abu Dhabi) are usually organized every two months. It can be either shown on pay-per-view or for free at the Spike TV channel.
There are also minor events dubbed as “UFC Fight Night” cards and “The Ultimate Fighter Finale” which is the culmination of its reality TV show “The Ultimate Fighter” held twice a year. Both can be seen exclusively for free at the Spike TV channel.
Check out below the UFC schedule to watch out for in 2011. This post will be updated from time to time to reflect any changes.
NOTE: TBA means “To Be Announced”.

I saw the whole press conference in Rio, and I think that there will be at least 2 title defenses along with excellent brazilian fighters.
I could abstract some thing from Dana Whites interview:
A fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior Cigano, Lyoto vs. Anderson and Minotauro vs. MIr 2.
An ultimate fighter with team brazil vs. team USA

I heard the first UFC champion Royce Gracie is fighting too. Any truth to that?

Well there were some questions regarding his return, like are you training, are you in shape and would you fight but all of them he denied that he would fight. He just answered that he always trains a lot but it’s quite impossible that he fights agains.
I forgot to mention, there was a rumor that Wanderlei Silva personally asked Dana to fight Chael Sonnen!
