2010-11 NBA Season | Paul Pierce’s Go-Ahead Jumper Breaks New Yok Knicks’ Winning Streak
Category: BasketballAmare Stoudemire’s scoring streak continues…
… but his team the New York Knicks’ winning streak breaks.
With 0.4 seconds remaining, the Boston Celtics’ Paul Pierce hit the jumper to break the tie and advance 118-116.
Stoudemire made a bail-out three-pointer at the buzzer but the replays clearly indicated that the ball was still in his hands as time expired.
The game was an instant classic with many dubbing it as NBA’s Game of the Year.
Amare scored 39 points extending his franchise-record streak to nine straight 30-point games.
The last player who had nine 30-point games in a row was Kobe Bryant (not surprised?) who did it at the end of the 2005-06 season.
The Boston Celtics who are still without Shaquille O’Neal due to injury won their 11th straight.
The Celtics sits atop the Eastern Conference with a 20-4 record while the Knicks is at 16-9.
BONUS: After Pierce’s jumper, a celebrating Nate Robinson decided to piggyback him. What followed is an epic FAIL.
