Rajon Rondo Triple Double

2010-11 NBA Season | Rajon Rondo’s Triple Double Beats The Spurs

Category: Basketball

.....

After missing the last seven games due to an ankle injury, Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo picked up where he left off by filling the stats sheet like crazy with 22 assists, 12 points, 10 rebounds, 6 steals and 1 block in his team’s thrilling 105-103 victory over the league-leading San Antonio Spurs today.

This is Rondo’s 11th career triple-double and second for this season. His 22 assists were the second-most in his career as he had 24 in an October 29, 2010 game against the New York Knicks that was his only other triple-double this season.

Rondo’s pinpoint passing and ball distribution allowed the Celtics to shoot an incredible 61.3% from the field.

He now joins Laker legend Magic Johnson as the only players in NBA history to have two triple-doubles in a season with 20 or more assists.

With still 48 games remaining for the 2010-11 NBA season, there’s a good chance that Rajon Rondo will break the tie with Magic.
