On January 29, 2011, two undefeated boxers will meet inside the ring in an event aptly titled, “Perfect Records, Perfect Match-Up”.
As the two best young prospects in the Welterweight division, Devon Alexander and Timothy Bradley will settle once and for all who is the rightful heir once the Pacquiaos and Mayweathers of their division fade away.
On the line is Alexander’s WBC Light Welterweight Title and Bradley’s WBO Light Welterweight Title. This will be a unification fight.
The two warriors will meet on January 29, 2011 at the Silverdome, Pontiac, Michigan, USA.
American Devon “Alexander the Great” Alexander (20-0, 13 KOs) is an undefeated boxer. He is the current WBC and former IBF Light Welterweight champion.
His last fight was against Andriy Kotelnik in August where he won via Unanimous Decision.
American Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley (27-0, 11 KOs) is a former WBC and current WBO World Light Welterweight Champion. Ring Magazine currently rates Bradley as the number nine pound-for-pound boxer in the world.
His last fight was against Luis Abregu in July where he won via Unanimous Decision.
Devon Alexander vs Timothy Bradley will be aired by HBO Boxing on January 29, 2011 LIVE from the Silverdome, Pontiac, Michigan, USA.
UPDATE Janury 29, 2011: Bradley defeated Alexander by technical decision in round 10. In the 10th round, Alexander keeps complaining to the referee that his eye stings due to repeated accidental head butts. The fight has to be stopped and the decision went to the score cards.
Judges: Nevada’s Duane Ford 97-93, Mexico’s Omar Mintun 98-93, and Ohio’s Tim Miller, 96-95, all for Timothy Bradley by 10-round, unanimous technical decison.
